It began on an expedition with Magellan Linden, of which an inexperienced yet inquisitive Phinneus Darcy was a member. An inveterate tinkerer, Darcy often built small, scientific devices. This trip was no exception. While testing the “energetic lens” device he had invented among the lost cities of Nova Albion, Darcy discovered an unidentified energy.

This energy permeates the ether of Linden Continent, and  had properties that seemed to explain why new cities, environments — and even continents — spring up almost overnight.
